Sri Balaji University
Sri Balaji Society (SBS) was established in the year 1998 by Late Professor Dr. (Col) A. Balasubramanian also the Founder and Chancellor of Sri Balaji University Pune (SBUP). Sri Balaji Society shifted to its present location in Tathwade, Pune in the year 2006. It is the dedication and vision of our founder which helped us achieve the status of a University in 2019.
SBUP is one huge campus with four institutes. Today, SBUP offers Post Graduate Management Programs (MBA) through its four management institutions - Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM), Balaji Institute of Technology & Management (BITM), Balaji Institute of International Business (BIIB), and Balaji Institute of Management and Human Resources Development (BIMHRD). Along with these, SBUP also has UG Programs with various specializations in BBA, BA, and BCA. We are also offering PG Program in MCA.
Apart from these four institutions we also have a law college – Balaji Law College (BLC) and an Undergraduate and Graduate level college namely – Balaji College of Arts Commerce and Science (BCACS) and Balaji Junior College of Arts Commerce and Science (BJCACS). BIMM - Balaji Institute of Modern Management
Initially known as IIMM (Indian Institute of Modern Management), this is the first institute started in the year 1999, within the campus of the Agrasen Maharaj High School located in Yerwada, Pune. During those times, IIMM was offering PGDM certificates in Management education in various categories like PM&HRD and IT & Marketing. Soon IIMM earned a positive reputation in the corporate world due to its alumni’s exemplary performance in the real world. After the institute secured prestigious AICTE approval in 2005, the name was changed to BIMM (Balaji Institute of Modern Management).

BITM - Balaji Institute of Technology & Management
This is the second institution at Sri Balaji University, Pune.Initially known as ICTM (Indian Centre For Telecom Management) was started in the year 2002 in a building located behind the Pune railway station. The institute was started keeping in mind the tremendous growth potential of the IT, ITES, and other service industries in India. After securing AICTE’s approval in the year 2005, the institute was renamed BITM (Balaji Institute of Technology & Management).

After securing AICTE’s approval in the year 2005, the name IIMHRD was changed to BIMHRD (Balaji Institute of Management & Human Resource Development).

BLC & BCAS
Balaji Law College : The institution known as Balaji Law College was started in the year 2003. Balaji Law College stands firm with the four management institutes of Sri Balaji University, poised to hone its students so that they wear not only the black gown of law but also the grey corporate suit of business, giving them an edge over their competition in the legal sector. Within a few years of its inception, Balaji Law College has successfully formed a place for itself in the legal education sector and has stood the test of time in creating a new breed of responsible, knowledgeable and well equipped law graduates willing to contribute to the legal fraternity, deliver and assist in the delivery of justice and be an asset not only to their company but also to the country.
Balaji College of Arts, Commerce and Science (BCACS) : University education is the hallmark of excellence and the stepping stone of the future in the country. Started in the year 2003, BCACS’s mandate is to enable quality and excellence in the pedagogy and impartation of information and knowledge in the field of arts, commerce, and science. The institution produces graduates who are trained to excel in their chosen field whether in the field of higher education or within their workplaces so that they raise the flag of quality and excellence by means of their work increasing the goodwill and the image of their institution.
Balaji Junior College of Arts, Commerce and Science (BCACS) : Functioning with the BCACS, The BJCACS has been established with an intent of helping its students into developing their fundamentals and honing their existing edge of information and knowledge so that they cross the border into university education from school level education by developing quality and excellence in their studies and work. Also started in the year 2003, the institute prepares its students to deliver their best in their chosen field of study so that they are able to develop excellence in their chosen field as they take the first step into the terrain of university-level learning and education, improving their image and the image of their institution by means of the output displayed by them in their studies, play and work.
Late. Prof. Dr. (Col) A. Balasubramanian was an eminent educationist, philanthropist, a gifted writer, and a decorated army officer. He has been instrumental in setting up Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies and is the ‘Atlas’ of The Sri Balaji University. Late. Prof. Bala, as he was popularly known in the education circle, is a triple Post Graduate and a rare personality known for his innovative approach and has made history in the field of education. He was a classic example of courage, commitment and intimate relationship with the corporate world.
A soldier and a student , Late. Prof. Dr. (Col) A . Balasubramanian was also a trainer, a consultant, a gifted writer, an author and the pioneer who conceived the idea of creating the first Post Graduate Management Institute in India exclusively for the Defence Personnel and their dependents. A retired Army Personnel, he was the first Indian from Armed Forces in the history of India to be conferred the Honorary Rank of Colonel after retirement. Standing tall with him on this exclusive dais are famous sportsmen like Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, Abhinav Bindra, Mahender Singh Dhoni and the famous actor, Late. Mohan lal. Dr. (Col) A. Balasubramanian has many feathers in his cap and was known for his creative, successful, and bold experiments in management education ventures.
He was a firm believer in the values of Discipline, Determination, and Dedication and left no stone unturned in ensuring that these values become the lifestyle of the MBA students enrolled in the Society. It’s a common belief that a man is a product of one’s environment. But for men with a strong will power, the environment is never a limiting factor. Prof. Bala was one such individual who fought against the environmental factors to craft a fortune for himself. Born in the iron grip of poverty, education was a scarce commodity to come by. To make a place for himself in the world, he left the comforts of a protected family life and joined an orphanage and completed his education up to high school. He then joined the Indian Army as a Sepoy and retired as a Subedar after a service of 28 years. While wearing the uniform, he acquired three post‑graduate degrees with flying colors.
His inclination towards education and knowledge did not end with acquiring degrees for himself but led him to create The Sri Balaji University and the Institutes under it which have groomed more than 20000 managers to date. His scholarly attributes and commitment to students have ranked him as one of the leading lights in the field of education in India. Late. Dr. (Col) A. Balasubramanian believed that ‘Education is the enhancer of knowledge, skill, and attitude. It is the energy of a nation. It is a source of discipline, dedication and determination necessary for transforming the effort into action for achieving the goal’. In line with his beliefs, the leadership continues to steer the four prestigious management institutes in Pune, namely Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM), Balaji Institute of Technology & Management (BITM), Balaji Institute of International Business (BIIB) and Balaji Institute of Management & HRD (BIMHRD), collectively forming the powerhouse of education known as the Sri Balaji Society.
The other colleges started by Bala Sir are Balaji College of Arts, Science & Commerce (BCACS), Balaji Junior College of Arts, Commerce & Science (BCACS) and Balaji Law College (BLC) providing education to undergraduate students. Hostel - A WORLD WITHIN A CAMPUS
Home away from home is the experience our students cherish while staying in the hostel at Sri Balaji University, Pune.Congestion-free accommodation nestled in a fully secured campus with recreational facilities creates a peaceful and focused environment. Accommodation is organized in a ‘cluster’ format with residential spaces for 12 students in each cluster. Each floor contains eight clusters with four floors appointed for the students in the hostel building. Also, the rooms are appropriately furnished and each student is allotted a lockable steel almirah for the safety of their personal belongings. A cluster friend is appointed for each floor and discipline is strictly maintained. The hostel facility is available to both male and female candidates. It is strictly on a first-come-first-serve basis due to a limited number of seats. Students who are not able to get hostel accommodation can avail of rented accommodation in close proximity to the campus (assistance will be provided).

Health & Recreation
At SBUP, we believe that a healthy mind resides in a fighting fit body. The campus is overwhelmingly active with over 2000 students. And being healthy is important to be successful in any profession. The huge campus of Sri Balaji University, Pune offers sports activities like football, volleyball, tennis, badminton, basketball, and a swimming pool. There's also a fully equipped gym that is a perfect place to pump iron and build muscles.
For mind soothing therapy, there's a walking track to go for a leisurely stroll or a brisk jog around the campus of the University.
The indoor games facilities include table tennis and carom corner. All the four institutes on the university campus have their own ‘sports committee’, these committees handle the responsibility of the well-being of the participants and ensure that participants in the sports competition play with true sportsman spirit.
Cafeteria & Mess
Food is fuel to the brain and body. We believe that nothing can give more happiness to the students than nutritious and piping hot food. To keep our students charged and healthy, our Cafeteria and Mess have an exciting menu to serve every day. The SBUP has three spacious cafeterias with cheerful dining facilities. Also, there is a juice and light refreshment outlet for satisfying snack cravings. The campus cafeterias serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the students studying at SBUP. Extreme care is taken to maintain the hygiene and freshness of the delicacies served.
Other Facilities
Medical Room : For the students of Sri Balaji University, Pune the campus is like a home away from home. The facility staff of the SBUP takes utmost care of every student and their needs. There’s an on-campus medical care facility for medical check-ups and the well-being of the students and faculty members. This medical care facility is in the hostel building and it helps the students and faculty members in case of minor health problems and injuries. Also, there’s an ambulance ready to support in case of medical emergencies.
General Store : The shop is stocked with a variety of items ranging from stationery to snacks and packaged food items.
Stationery and Xerox Facility : A book-binding, printing, and copier facility are also present within the campus.
ATM Booth : To facilitate smooth and timely financial transactions, an ATM is functional outside the Campus gate.

The library has subscribed to about 185 journals and magazines comprising international and national editions along with subscriptions to 26 local and national newspapers. The latest and most updated reading and research material are aimed at encouraging students to understand and implement management research ideas and global business strategies.
Students also have access to Notification & Circular of Government of India like Customs & Duty Drawback - notification: CBEC Clarification, etc.; Foreign Exchange Management Act, (FEMA) - Amendments, Directions, Clarification and Master circulars; Foreign Trade Policy- amendments, clarifications DGFT, etc.; Monthly list of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) Inflows; SEBI : Notifications, Circulars & Acts & Ordinance.

Libraries have arrangements for sharing information and knowledge from several national and international online libraries and databases such as NDL- National Digital Library, EBSCO- EBSCO Management Collection & eBook Business Collection. Online subscriptions and editions to journals such as Human Resource Development Review, Global Journal of Emerging Market Economies, and many others. Also, 14 online journals and databases are made available for the students and faculty for study and research.

The reading rooms are equipped with comfortable chairs and desks with a seating capacity of approximately 120 to 180 students. The libraries also have reprographic facilities for the students and faculty members. Each library is empowered with computer systems catering to the e-library and reference needs of its members and visitors.
